New Addition in Calls Creek Circle Subdivision of Watkinsville Includes Custom Masonry, 150+ Year Old Mantel, and More
We are excited to share our recently completed project in the Calls Creek Subdivision in Watkinsville, GA. The customers requested a screened porch addition that included high-end, long-lasting materials like Hardie Fiber Cement Siding, Soffit and Fascia. That was just the beginning!
The main jaw-dropping feature of this project is the custom rock masonry fireplace and hearth, which includes a mantel made of a reclaimed 150+ year-old solid piece of Eastern Hemlock mantel. Other notable design features of the screened-in porch addition include stained White Pine tongue-and-groove ceilings and interior chimney accents.
This project also features a custom-built gate, a large ceiling fan, and a mounted big-screen TV for watching the big game in comfort and style.
This project required careful consideration of the tie-in at the existing home to ensure a seamless aesthetic and effective rainwater management. Our clients understandably did not want the porch addition to obstruct an existing window on the home, but also understood the roof slope needed to achieve adequate water flow. By working together, we designed a plan that met technical requirements and delivered a beautiful screened-in porch that looks like it was originally built with the house.
If you are looking to add on to your home, whether it be a screened-in porch, sunroom, bedroom, office, or a full-scale renovation, please consider entrusting us at Cecil Jennings Construction for your next project.
